SkyTimer for Apple Watch was developed to provide full access to every SkyTimer feature. In fact, SkyTimer for Apple Watch was built before the iPhone app to ensure it wasn't simply created as an afterthought.
Yes. You can get SkyTimer for free and track block and flight times at no charge. To get all of the other features, it’s a simple in-app subscription to SkyTimer Plus that will unlock everything on your phone (and watch if you have one).
SkyTimer has been engineered to be very power efficient whether you’re using your phone or watch (or both). Even the GPS functionality is carefully managed so it’s not silently sipping away that precious battery life.
SkyTimer Plus unlocks all features so you can track fuel quantity, manage tanks, get tank timer and in-flight alerts, create additional aircraft, store unlimited trips, and much more. The SkyTimer Plus subscription has two options: $0.99 monthly or $9.99 annually. (Prices may vary for you due to local taxes and conversion from U.S. dollars.)
When you configure your aircraft in SkyTimer, you’ll set your tank capacity. You'll also have the option of using average in-flight and on-ground fuel burn rates or using the Dynamic Fuel Flow option which allows you to update the fuel flow in-flight. When you start a trip, you provide your initial fuel load. SkyTimer uses all of this information to calculate estimated fuel use during the trip and estimated fuel remaining. Of course, these are only estimates and not a substitute of your flight instruments.
SkyTimer's Smart Track algorithm uses your device's GPS speed together with your aircraft's provided Vso stall speed to determine takeoffs and landings. You can also enable Approach Mode when using Smart Track to save battery life. GPS tracking will remain off until you activate Approach Mode near your arrival airport.
Nope. SkyTimer doesn’t require you to create an account. Your flight logs are stored locally on your phone and securely synced across devices using your iCloud account. No need to create and manage yet another account and password.
Nope—not during flight. Of course you’ll need Internet access to download the app initially and to sync your trip logs across devices. But you don’t need Internet access during a flight. The app even has a built-in worldwide database of airports so it doesn’t need to internet access for that information.
SkyTimer for Apple Watch is designed to work together with your phone or independently if your phone isn't nearby. You can fully track your flights with only your watch--even detecting airports and tracking takeoffs and landings.
SkyTimer’s fuel features support dual-tank aircraft. Whether you can feed from both tanks simultaneously like a Cessna 172 or need to switch tanks like a Piper Cherokee, you’ll just set the parameters when you create the aircraft in the app.
When your starting fuel load is unbalanced, Smart Balance will calculate an initial fuel tank timer duration that will balance the tanks based on your provide in-flight fuel burn rate.
SkyTimer works on any iPhone that will run iOS 13 or above and Apple Watch Series 3 or greater running WatchOS 6 or above.
